How to live art but remain independent?

Searching the answer on this question since 2000 I have begun a serial of works which deal with artist's positioning in the public space. Exhibiting as a sort of self-positioning in public domains (of a so called art scene), I dealt with capitalistic network of relations: producer/consumer. D ealing with artistic positioning and artistic production in the spirit of relational aesthetics, I framed my work as perverted feminist encounter against cultural stereotypes. Whether they are pure formal (Design) or done in the form of the relational aesthetics (Energy), all works are conceptually and materially done as Cultural Healing Strategy.

Domains of my artistic explorations are: ready made, drawing, painting, inquiry, Xerox, installations, digital print, video, performance, multimedia.

In the spirit of relational aesthetics, I arranged different forms of registration performances with coupons and donations. Audience was obliged to bring and take the gift, to give the donation, or to have the possibility to qualify as a sponsor and take a part in the project. The very latest works ambiguously fool around with the role of Mass Media Communication. Launching the project BRANDch SERVICE <http://www.gabrielavasic.com/projects/bsn_project.php> in 2005 I have been dealing with marketing manipulation strategies. In order to promote my profession, I problematized the holly trinity of consumption: Brand-Design-Goods as replicates for aesthetic experience. Treating the visual branch as a brand, I used gallery as a marketing space. Relaying on audience/consumers conscissness, gallery becomes free ad space for individual art&craft producers, organizations and firms. That is how the module of marketing praxix controls the audience and therefore, measures the reception of an art work, bringing the audience into the project. The audience is not a passive consumer any more but active user of the network.

In 2005 I established ACM [1],in 2006 a Society for intelligent communications "Smarti-e"
